ACCIDENT: ABOUT 20 PERSONS WERE BURNT TO DEATH IN OWERRI AFTER A COLLISION BETWEEN PETROL TANKER AND BUS



So sorrowful as 20 people were burnt to death after a petrol on high speed collided with a bus carrying passengers…

It was indeed a black Friday in Imo State As 20 people were burnt alive after an 18-seater bus conveying passengers from Orlu town to Owerri, the state capital, had a head on collusion with a petrol tanker.
According an eyewitnesse reports, the petrol tanker conveying diesel lost control before colliding with the bus. The sad incident occurred along the Owerri-Orlu expressway, precisely at Njaba bridge.
In a report by another eyewitness, simply identified as ikechukwu, immediately the two vehicle collided, the petrol tanker exploded burning the eighteen passengers to death.
The bus burnt beyond recognition, and all the passengers were roasted alive except one woman who miraculously survived the incident.
The state commandant of Federal Road Safety Corps, Kayode Aremu, confirmed the accident and said that he had yet to be briefed about the casualty figure.
