ANY POLITICIAN THAT SHARES ONLY PRINTED MATERIALS TO YOUTHS HAVE NO VISIONS FOR THE YOUTHS. −NDJP
One does not need to write realms for people to grab the message one is really trying to pass to the people.
In one of my previous posts, I expressed my displeasure over the way politicians who claim to be leaders abandon their people who vote them in to represent them, only for them to return when next it is time for election.
Quite appalling that most of our pleaders are guilty of that; hence I suggest that elections should be conducted annually if that is one of the major reasons and periods politicians remember their people.
In this short piece, I am going to let people to know that any politicians aspiring for any political seats in a country like Nigeria should not be sharing ONLY printed materials to youths, especially those of them who are educated such students; that is a waste of resources which the politician should have used in doing something better for the youths.
Most of these printed materials are done in their best/highest qualities costing very expensive amounts of money. I wonder why they won’t use such amount of money to organize a powerful and sound EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES for these young persons and empower even if it’s few persons with outstanding performance at the end of such programmes. Same is applicable to mounting bill boards here and there.
Invest in your people and they would be the bill boards on which the world would be seeing your good works. Stop printing volumes of printed material and sharing to students and young people in your society. Look for a well renowned platform and publish your personal details, have active social media accounts; if you are doing any work for the masses, then let it be published on the internet media.
You can open up a blogging platform or website which should be used in sensitizing and informing people about your humanitarian services and philanthropic activities in the society; such a platform should be active in and out of season, and mind you that such a platform alone will also provide employment opportunities.
I keep wondering if some politicians do think of what the youths really NEED. Please there is a clear dichotomy between the WANTS and the actual NEEDS of the youths and the society at large. Most youths may WANT to collect your money as rewards and hail you in reciprocity, but what they actually NEED is empowerment, employment, and helps that can be there for them till demise.
Now, to the aspirants of different political parties who are in for the November 18th gubernatorial election in Anambra State; I am not just enjoining you, I am really advising each of you to start empowering the youths; adopt youth empowerment as one of the items of your campaign strategies. A youth you empower during your campaign have no reason to abandon/forget you during and after election even if you didn’t eventually emerge the winner.
This piece may not sound sensible to some people, but that’s the reality. A politician whom the ONLY thing he has to offer me before election are different copies of printed materials of his so-said achievements deserves not to be my father, and does not deserve my vote.
It is really an act of futility for an aspirant to campaign for not less than six (6) good months but won’t hosting even if it is one empowerment programme. We are not asking you sponsor thousands, but empower few.
Thanks for visiting, and also for reading this piece from the beginning till this point. I am not pointing finger at anyone, almost all of them are guilty of this. I may be nobody to you, but without me the society is lacking something.
As a young person, don’t just be youthful, but be useful to the society.
