There may be may be lots of stories about her past which are bad, that’s not what I am here to talk about in this content. We all have past stories which may not have been that good. No matter how bad her past was, presently she is doing good.
I don’t know how I ‘politically’ fell in love with the Senator, I have never met her before; but I discovered that recently her good works made me cherish her the more.
I have been following numerous updates about her and her works on social media, and I will boldly tell you that none of them are lip services; they are real and in existence. You can do your research if you have doubts.
I know that she’s doing her job which her office as a Senator representing the people of Anambra Central demands of her. Yes, we need a representative who at least will use the office elected into to bring dividends of democracy to the people who voted him/her into office.
I willingly became a strong political fan, follower and lover of Senator Uche Ekwunife during the time she and Senator Victor Umeh were going to court; her decision to vacate office for Chief Umeh following court ruling, and also her beating Chief Umeh in the previous poll to bounce back to the Senate made a great impression of her capacity in my mind. I know she did not achieve that all alone, but with the help of the right persons who she yokes with. I enjoin her to always keep such good people around her as she progresses in her political endeavours.
I am one of those who believes that it will be hard for Iyom to become the next Governor of Anambra State; see, I am not been pessimistic, I am not saying it is IMPOSSIBLE, but it will be hard (nothing good comes easy, Anambra Governorship “aburo oku nwata na-agba ngada anya”), aside the challenges female genders face in Nigerian politics, there are few other encumbering factors (which I won’t go into in this article) posing as hurdles to her success come 6th of November 2021 slated for the next Anambra State Governorship Election. I am someone who is not only an OPTIMIST but also a REALIST.
Now, what inspires me to come up with this content is not whether Iyom will win or not, but what if she didn’t win? Is a question that hit my mind and I decided to write on it. I have been wanting to write something about her, and now the opportunity has come.
Sometimes in the past, during the past Guber in Anambra State, I called on Aspirants to use empowerment programmes as part of their campaigns activities; and I also called on the youths to do their best to get the much benefits they could from these Aspirants before election as it has become norm that they only remember their people when election is around the corner.
BELOW ARE FEW OF MY PAST ARTICLES ON MY ADVICE TO PAST ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION ASPIRANTS:
Even if Senator Uche Ekwunife won’t win the Guber come 6th November, I won’t really feel so bad because she has done pretty well with the current office she is holding, anyone who is honest won’t argue the fact that she has done well because not only that I saw her works online, there have been proofs and attestations of those works; I have seen updates of her visits to different Local Government Areas, to Wards and so on; different empowerment programs for both women and youths; she did not leave out schools and students, and so many others.
I may not have directly benefited from her good works, but I may benefit from her good works someday; and I am happy that there are people who have benefited. Some of these good works are outside her responsibilities as a Senator of the Nigerian Senate. They were born out of her love and good will for her people and humanity.
I am from Abagana Town, Njikoka Local Government Area of the State; I know that she has not really done much, some of my town youths have many times questioned our brothers and sisters who work with/for the Senator Uche Ekwunife if she does not remember Abagana, because many times they have shared updates on the Senator’s works in other communities; only few times they have shared updates about her works in my town Abagana; but all hope is not lost, I believe that she her good works will reach my people soonest. But even at that, for now she is doing well (in Mr Macaroni’s voice).
I am not here to start listing the numerous works Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Iyom) has done; they are bare and clear; but to tell you that whether she wins or not, I will remain grateful for her good works so far; and I implore her to not only use promises and/or lip services for her campaigns, but she should employ more empowerment programmes as tools to make people of Anambra State believe that if given the opportunity, that she will do more and better.
I always implore political office aspirants to use more of empowerment programmes during campaigns, because even if the person failed to win, his/her empowerment programmes won’t be forgotten.
I know that employing empowerment programmes as campaign tools won’t benefit so many people, but let it benefit the few who who truly deserve to be beneficiaries, even if I won’t be among.
Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Iyom) has so far had amazing time of meritorious service in the Senate House. Her good works, reaching out to the people, and making effective/handy use use of her portfolio have been among the many reasons I am an ardent fan, political lover and follower of Iyom Ekwunife, her political party notwithstanding. Iyom has proven that right female genders can do well in Nigerian politicians if given favorable grounds, as there is no qualms she is one of the MOST ACTIVE female senators and politicians in the country.
I hope she continues her good works even after the November 6th Gubernatorial Election in Anambra State. Dear Iyom, “ka Uche Chukwu Bia Na Mmezu” (let the Will of God be done). I wish you success at the polls come 6th of November, 2021.
